Warranty Information (fine print that we encourage everyone to read):
- 30 day warranty is only given to laptops that we receive with the original / genuine power adapters that were made for that particular laptop, we have to see the original adapter during the first time that we repair the system as well as during the 2nd time (for the warranty).
- If you are using non-genuine, aftermarket or universal power supply with your laptop you only get 30 days warranty from the day of repair, not a 30 day warranty. You get the 30 day warranty only if you are using a genuine factory adapter at all times.
- We only going to repair your laptop once under the 30 day warranty (after initial repair), if you break the jack 3rd, 4th 5th time we won’t repair it under warranty.
- If you start having issues within 6 months after the initial repair then pack up your laptop and send it back to us we will pay for the return shipping back to you, simply make a note saying that the laptop was fixed around so-and-so date.
- If you start having issues 6 months after the initial repair, please enclose $10 to cover the return shipping, obviously for walk in clients this rule does not apply.
- 95% of all laptops that we receive here for the “warranty dc jack repair” do not have a jack issue, rather they have a faulty plug issue (tip of the power cord wears out), and people think it is the jack that went bad. Prior to shipping the laptop to us the 2nd time around, please check your laptop with a different power supply OR check your power supply (power brick / charger) on a different system. Replacement adapters available on Ebay for $10 on average.
Other miscellaneous information related to warranty:
1) If we replaced your plug or your ac adapter that means your plug or your ac
adapter wasn’t working well or did not look good while it was here. The plug
replacement and ac adapter replacement are done as a courtesy, at no extra
charge, so there is no warranty for it ever, most of the time these are
temporary fixes. If your ac adapter breaks or your plug breaks, or the cable
gets twisted please purchase a new GENUINE ONLY ac adapter ($10 on ebay.com). If
we did not replace a plug on your ac adapter, that means while it was here the
ac adapter seemed to be working totally fine, yes there are times when it works
fine here but when it gets back to you the same things start to happen and the
cause is the ac adapter’s plug going bad.
2) All complaints, concerns, issues, comments are very welcome; if you have any,
please send them BY EMAIL ONLY, DO NOT CALL US with complaints, the computer
tech on the phone would not be able to resolve your complaint, he has no
authority to do so.
3) In the future if you will start having the same issue again, it would
probably be a faulty ac adapter and not a dc jack, please borrow an ac adapter
from a friend of yours and see if you get the same issue, if issue disappears
then buy a new factory GENUINE ONLY ac adapter ($10 on Ebay). DC jacks don’t
break for no reason, usually dc power jacks break because of the faulty ac
adapter, usage with universal ac adapter, usage with non-genuine Chinese cheap
adapters, twisted cable on ac adapter, faulty plug on the ac adapter, laptop
usage in bed, laptop falling from a table. 95% of all warranty work that we
receive here are not related to dc jack, it is the ac adapter going bad, and not
the dc jack in the laptop. We give the WARRANTY FOR THE DC JACK inside of the
laptop and not for the ac adapter (power brick, power cord, power plug).
4) If you have sent in a universal power adapter or a replacement non-genuine
Chinese ac adapter, please purchase a factory ac adapter from Ebay $10.
Universal ac adapters and cheap Chinese non-genuine ac adapters is the number
one reason why laptop jack fails as well as other motherboard components go bad
due to too much amperage or not enough amps these adapters output.
5) If your system works fine from the ac adapter but the battery does not charge
(especially common with dell computers) then please read on. Your system will
work totally fine except your battery won’t charge. That happened because while
the dc jack was going bad, the charging circuit on the motherboard went bad as
well. We can make the system work fine from the ac adapter, but we can’t repair
the battery charging circuit, nobody can. Please do not complain about it to us
if the system works fine from the ac adapter while being plugged in but the
battery does not get charged then there is nothing we can do.
6) When buying a new ac adapter please make sure that on the adapter the number
of Volts and Amps is exactly the same as it says on the bottom of your laptop.
Most common ac adapters are 19V 3.42A, 4.6A, 6.7A, there are 15V that are 3A,
4A, 5A. Make sure the number of amps is exactly the same or slightly higher than
what it says on the bottom of your laptop. Please only buy GENUINE ac adapters,
especially if your computer is Dell
7) Warranty: again warranty covers dc jack replacements only; warranty DOES
NOT cover your AC adapter or whatever fix we performed on your adapter. If
your dc jack breaks please make a note saying the system is under warranty &
when we worked on it and ship it to us. If the problem is with the dc jack we
will fix it up and ship it back to you. If the problem is with your ac adapter
then we will charge you (a) for the shipping back (b) for repair of your ac
adapter, so again it would be cheaper for you to just to buy a new ac adapter if
you think your ac adapter is bad. If you did not send an original ac adapter the
first time around, you only get 30 day warranty; if you have sent a universal or
not an original ac adapter you also get 30 day warranty.
